Dragonfly hatchling, tiger moth, worm and some motor racing

My computer collapsed - blown motherboard and power supply.  So a new machine, plenty reloading and I am back to update the blog.

Note that the insects / bugs photographed and displayed here were not harmed, frozen or pinned.  All bugs live(d) to tell the tale of the giant eye and bright light that watched them.

Dragonfly that had hatched from the nymph - empty exoskeleton is called an exuvia.  Note the green moss / algae on both dragonfly and nymph.
Dragonfly wings - close up.
Dragonfly wings - macro.
Dragonfly tail section.
I found a Tri-coloured tiger moth and startled it.  The moth displayed its bright orange abdomen and raised its wings to scare of attackers.  It landed on the grass and went into defensive mode, then eventually settled down.
Here are some photographs of a worm that I cannot identify.  I rarely see any bug eating the leaves of a ficus tree/plant.  It is a beautiful worm, but also so ugly.  I have heard of people that keep the worm alive until it spins a cocoon, then becomes a pupa and emerges as a butterfly or moth.  Then they identify the worm by what emerges from the cocoon.  Well I let the worm be - probably was eaten by a bird - it was gone the following day.
Macro of the worm's hair follicles.
Macro of the worm's foot.
Macro shot of the mandibles and mouth parts.
Motor racing - Port Elizabeth - Scribante Race Track - 30 April 2011 - Wesbank Superseries.
I went to get photographs of flames from the side exhausts of the V8's and was delighted with the results.
Greg Gildenhuys on a BMW 1000RR.
Robert Portman - Triumph 575.

Hi Zane,
Gosh it's good to be visiting... I have been unable to connect to anything... thankfully my Internet Provider talked me through new settings... and gosh it is good to be able to even re-enter Blogger... am so far behind with visiting have also discovered.

So pleased you were able to re-establish a new Computer.. not seeing your amazing photos continue would be an enormous loss... and these photos are stunning... well I think I write that nearly every time... but being true, I suppose the feeling of awe I experience... stunning just about defines the way I feel.

Love the Motor Bike Racing photos. I'm not overly into Motor Sports, but truly admire the skill involved with Riders and their Motor Bikes on a race track.
I can feel the speed attained looking at the images... and the way Bike and Rider say hello to the ground while still travelling is awesome. I feel you've photographed it beautifully.

You really are beautifully skilled with the way you Photograph your Subjects.

By the way... how did your Window Competition Photo do?
And also the one of the Children unphased by your attempts to ward them off? or am I just really behind???

Love the Worm... I rather love Worms, their colours and patterns are always beautiful to behold.
The photo of the Foot is wonderful... how beautiful it is to see such close-ups. I have not found I have been able to see the details with my own eyes as I do when I see your Magic Macro Photos.

The Dragonfly beside its exoskeleton is a Story in its self.
Is the Dragonfly making a munchy of its Exuvia?
Waste not want not if is.

Thanks again for another beautiful Post to experience.
With appreciation from Magda(Australia)

*SPEECHLESS* One day when I get a DSLR with a macro lense, you need to give me a couple of lessons. You need to enter that first picture in a competition somewhere, cause I can't see it not winning.
