Red eye fly macro, tiny weevil macro, mantidfly & ichneumonid wasp

Common red-eyed fly - had fun with the macro - changed silver colours to light sepia to focus attention on the bulbous red eyes.

Mantidfly - I am told that this it is fairly rare to encounter these insects.  Half dragonfly / half praying mantis / and some other bugs all in one. It has not been photoshopped and this is a real-life bug.  Note the praying mantis type forearms and the clear segmented dragon fly-type wings.

Tiny weevil with pink background.

Ichneumonid wasp - its large dark eyes posed a real problem in the poor light.

Thanks for the comments - and visits to my blog.

That mantidfly is the wildest combination of bugs ever. I think you've been taking claymanaton classes from Joan. ;)

As always, Great macros!
